Emerald Energy From Waste Inc. recovers thermal energy from solid non-hazardous waste from municipal (MSW) and industrial, commercial and institutional (IC&I) sources. The recovered thermal energy is converted to electricity and steam for community use. The Emerald EFW facility is located in Brampton, Ontario.

Independent Engineer’s project review and due diligence. Also review and approval of metering plans and performance test procedure and capacity check tests. Participated in annual review of CHP Useful Heat Output.

Durham York Energy Centre is a 19.4 MW energy-from-waste (EFW) generation facility in the Clarington Energy Park located in the Municipality of Clarington being developed by the Regional Municipality of Durham and Regional Municipality of York.

Independent Engineer verifying facility’s readiness for commercial operation purposes, as required in IESO power purchase agreement. Reviewed certain aspects of plant design, construction, commissioning, proposed operations, and performance. Witnessed performance test and issued test report.

Cabot Tail-Gas CHP Project, Canada

Owner’s Engineer providing front-end engineering work and strategic advice related to project development, off-take agreements and structure. Services included interconnection study, development of single line, preliminary cycle design, partial EPC documents, cost estimates and project proforma review.

Algoma Energy Cogeneration Facility, Canada

Waste-Gas-Fired Conventional Thermal Cycle Plant, 63 MW, Ontario Canada

Algoma Energy Cogeneration Facility is a by-product fuel fired 63 MW Waste-Gas-Fired Conventional Thermal Cycle facility located in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. The facility consumes blast furnace and coke oven gas from Algoma Steel Inc. (ASI) to generate electricity.

Technical Consultant providing advice to Contract Management on a broad spectrum of technical/financial issues. Services include due diligence reviews, facility audits, and capital and O&M costs reviews and analyses. In addition, provided assistance in the review and approval of performance test procedures, metering plans, capacity check test protocols as well as annual reviews of contract deliverables including CHP Useful Heat Output Percentage among other parameters.
