Biomass-Fired Cogeneration, 40 MW Canada

The project consists of one (1) 250,000 lb/h nominally rated wood waste-fired boiler together with a 20 MW condensing steam turbine generator set and balance of plant equipment. The proposed project will deliver:

- 20 MW of power to the IMO-Controlled grid
- 200,000 lb/h of process steam to the Mill
- 7,000 USGPM of hot water to the Mill

Owner’s Engineer responsible for the complete development of a 35 MW (nominal) CHP biomass project. This included complete preliminary design parameters, equipment selection, system schematics, grid connection, FEED package, EPC document, and assistance in fuel procurement supply quality and strategy. Prepared a complete bid proposal package and assisted in project implementation strategy

Technical Advisor providing advice on possible development of a combined gas-fired and biomass-fired project.

The biogas plant of Jock Valley Farms Limited is a dairy farm located west of Ottawa supplied by off-farm liquid and solid materials for generation capacity of 0.5 MW.

Provided technical advisory services concerning design, metering, grid connection, commercial operation and related matters.

Orenda Bio-Fuel Project, Canada

Biofuel-Fired Simple Cycle, 2 x 2.5 MW Ontario, Canada

The project is based on Orenda OGT 2500 combustion turbine, 2x2.5MW capacity bio-fuel-fired plant is located within an existing building at the Ford Motor Company of Canada, in Oakville, Ontario.

Provided engineering services related to the development, design, and ultimately construction of a 5 (2 x 2.5) MW power project.

Thunder Bay Condensing Turbine Project, Canada

Thunder Bay Condensing Turbine Project is a biomass fuelled cogeneration facility located in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This facility has a total nameplate capacity of 62.4 MW of which 40 MW is contracted to the OPA.

Independent Engineer’s project review and due diligence. Also reviewed and approved of metering plans and performance test procedure and capacity check tests. Involved in annual review of CHP Useful Heat Output.

Becker Cogeneration Plant, Canada

Biomass Fuel-Fired Combined Heat and Power, 8 MW Ontario, Canada

Becker Cogeneration Plant is a biomass fuel-fired cogeneration facility located in Hornepayne, Ontario and is adjacent to the lumber manufacturing facilities of Olav Haavaldsrud Timber Company Limited. The facility has a total nameplate capacity of 15.0 MW, of which 8.0 MW is contracted to the OPA.
